Save Water for a Brighter Future

We are committed to lighten the load of dishes for every one in the world and for the world itself.

#SkipTheRinse

Every time we pre-rinse our dishes, we can waste up to 20 gallons of water. Together we can save up to 150 billion gallons of water*. That’s billions. With a B. With Finish, you can Skip the Rinse.

Between July 1, 2020 and December 31, 2022 Finish will contribute $1 to The Nature Conservancy for every #SkiptheRinse pledge taken on the Finish website for a minimum contribution of $100,000 and a maximum contribution of $400,000. The mission of The Nature Conservancy is to conserve the lands and water on which all life depends. More information about the Conservancy is available by mail at 4245 N. Fairfax Drive, Arlington Virginia 22203, by phone at (800) 628-6860 or at www.nature.org.

More Ways to Save Water

If we all adopt these six simple habits, we can make a huge difference.

Shorten your showers

Try to take a short shower if possible. Half of the water in the shower is wasted while we’re shampooing or washing our bodies, so turn off the water when you’re getting soapy. Also, make sure you have an efficient shower head!*****

Save baths for a treat

Think of baths as a luxury rather than a necessity. When you do choose to indulge, stop running the tap when the bath is ¾ full so you don’t spill when you step in. If you absolutely must have a regular bath, consider a smaller tub.*****

Flush a little less

The toilet flush counts for a massive 30% of total household water usage. Remember the phrase, “If it’s yellow, let it mellow.” It can’t hurt. An efficient toilet can save your family up to 13,000 gallons per year.*****

Kill the kitchen faucet

When washing your vegetables, utensils or dinnerware, do not let that faucet run! It is actually more hygienic to soak veggies rather than washing them under running water. An aerator on your tap is also an easy way to lower your flow. Using Low-flow faucets save around 700 gallons per year.*****

Be mindful in the bathroom

Be aware when you are washing you are shaving, scrubbing your face or brushing your teeth. The water does not need to be running then. Automated taps that run only when your hand is under the faucet are another option.*****

Do less laundry

Unless you are incredibly active, most clothing will last for several wears before it needs to be washed. When you do run a load, make sure not to under - or over - fill your machine. Front load washers can save up to 70% less water than top load washers.*****

Skip the rinse

By pre-rinsing dishes before running them in a dishwasher, the average household unnecessarily sends thousands of precious litres of water down the drain each year. Finish’s Quantum Ultimate superior formula means you can skip the rinse. By skipping the rinse, you can save upto 20 gallons of water every day!
